Gloria Mindock

Gloria Mindock is editor of Cervena Barva Press. She is the author of "Grief Touched the Sky at Night" (Glass Lyre Press, 2023), "Ash," (Glass Lyre Press, 2021), ("Ash" has been translated into the Serbian by Milutin Durickovic, published by Alma Press in Belgrade, 2022), "I wish Francisco Franco Would Love Me" (Nixes Mate Books), "Whiteness of Bone" (Glass Lyre Press), "At the Heavens Gate" (Ars Longa Press, Romania) translated into the Romanian by Flavia Cosma, "Nothing Divine Here," (U Soku Stampa), and "Blood Soaked Dresses" (Ibbetson). Widely published in the USA and abroad, her poetry has been translated and published into the Romanian, Croatian, Serbian, Montenegrin, Spanish, Estonian, Albanian, Bulgarian, Turkish, Macedonian, and French. Gloria has been published in numerous literary journals in the USA and abroad including Gargoyle, The James Dickey Review, Web Del Sol, SpoKe, Constellations: A Journal of Poetry and Fiction, Ibbetson, Muddy River Poetry Review, Unlikely Stories, Pratik: A Magazine of Contemporary Writing, Nixes Mate Review and anthology, and others, also in foreign countries that Amazon won't allow me to list. Gloria has been awarded the Ibbetson Street Press Lifetime Achievement Award and was the recipient of the Allen Ginsberg Award for Community Service by the Newton Writing and Publishing Center. She also received the fifth and fortieth Moon Prize from Writing in a Woman’s Voice.

"Grief Touched the Sky at Night" is winner of The International Impact Book Award, Speak Up Talk Radio International Firebird Award, Independent Press Award- Category Poetry-Political/Social, Book Fest Book Award in Contemporary Poetry, and Outstanding Creator Awards-1st Place: Current Events, 1st Place: War/Peace Literature, 2nd Place: Poetry. 2nd Place: Grief and Coping, 3rd Place: Best Non-Fiction, Honorable Mention: Best Writing Non-Fiction, Honorable Mention for Best Quote: "Bandages won't help/the worm will find its way." On August 11th, 2024, Gloria Mindock will be awarded the Sam Cornish Award by the New England Poetry Club. This is for all her work with the community and her press, Cervena Barva Press, which has a strong outreach.

Gloria was the Poet Laureate in Somerville, MA in 2017 & 2018.
