Dave Norman lives a quiet life in Portland, Maine...and a very different one when he travels. His penchants for writing, adventure, and creative misadventure, have served him well as an international journalist, photographer, and author. His travel writing explores the dusty streets of rural India, frozen Russian gulags, maze-like Chinese hutongs, and hot Cuban nightclubs. A widely recognized expert on paintball, he has played the sport in seven countries and used it as means of connecting with amazing people across language and cultural barriers.
Dave has a special love for finding small stories that connect with big ideas, and writing about them for a range of publications. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College’s MALS program in creative writing, and a 2004 graduate of Westminster College. He is eternally grateful to the Missouri School of Journalism, whose rejection set him off on a six year, sixteen country odyssey where he met his wife, found his calling, and wrote several books--including "Following Josh."
