Pauli Reading Resides in Charlotte North Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Communication. After graduating from UNC-CH, she became a flight attendant for Piedmont Airlines and continued flying for USAirways.
In 2002, she began a program called PAWS for Character to teach elementary school students the value of using Good Character. Since 2002, Pauli Reading has successfully taught thousands of Pre-k through 5th grade students in her program using 13 canine helpers. Paws For Character enjoys visiting both conventional and autistic classrooms. The students in the Autistic classes walk, play, and train the dogs. One student talked for the first time after befriending a nice Labradoodle named Max.
Her first book, Sherlock McBiskit Shares His Secrets to Good Character And Respect, available on Amazon, is based on the PAWS program. Sherlock McBiskit, a West Highland Terrier, has visited schools with Pauli Reading for the past seven years. He is a huge favorite among the students. He wears a Scottish kilt and hat. He also carries a set of bagpipes on his back.
