Rosemary Gard has spent three months in Croatia in a village where she observed the customs and living habits of her relatives. Rosemary and her husband, Bob, lived for a year in Vicenza, Italy while he was with the army. They have also traveled to Bogota, Columbia in the early 60's.
What started out as a Trilogy of the Destiny books, has now grown to a series of seven books, each continuing the story. Even tho the books are a continuation, they are stand alone books and can be enjoyed on their own. The first book starts out in the Croatian part of Austria-Hungary in 1892 and continues to the United States in book three in 1905 and lastly ends up in New Orleans in 1915 with Stefan's Destiny.
These books reveal the hardships and life stories, fictionalized about Croatian Immigrants to America in the early 1900s.
So far, three of her books have won the prodigious International Readers Favorite awards.
She travels each year to the fantastic CroatiaFest held in Seattle. Her books are not only read by people of Croatian descent, but by all Nationalities. In Seattle she sold a set of her books to an Asian girl.
Also in Seattle, she had lunch and was pictured with the Croatian Ambassador.
The author travels throughout the US at events to talk about her books and to sell them to her faithful and wonderful readers.
