Lisa Bortolotti

I am Professor of Philosophy at the University of Birmingham and my research interests are in the philosophy of the cognitive sciences.

I was born in Bologna in 1974. After studying Philosophy in Bologna for my first degree, and in London and Oxford for my masters, I obtained a PhD in Philosophy from the Australian National University in 2004. In 2005 I joined the University of Birmingham.

In 2011 I was awarded the American Philosophical Association Book Prize for my monograph on delusional beliefs, "Delusions and Other Irrational Beliefs" (OUP, 2009). I am also the author of "Irrationality" (Polity, 2014) and the editor of "Delusions in Context" (Palgrave, 2018).
