John Talbot

John Henry Talbot was born in Roodepoort, a gold mining town in South Africa, in 1931. He was educated at Roodepoort Town School, Krugersdorp High School, and the University of the Witwatersrand, where he obtained an honours degree and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics. After a successful career in research he launched into manufacturing his inventions, in the course of which he had a face-to-face meeting with the Lord Jesus Christ, who called him to sell up everything and to follow Him. He did so, much to his family's dismay. The Lord first sent him to Transkei, where he distributed thousands of free copies of Xhosa bibles to the local populace, preached the gospel to the poor, and ministered generally. When his funds ran out the Lord placed him in a senior research post at the Atomic Energy Corporation of South Africa Limited. In between contributing to South Africa's nuclear weapons and nuclear fuels projects, the Lord sent him, with the approval of his employers, to preach the gospel to the poor in the tribal homelands.

Since his retirement he has spent his time preaching the gospel, writing books, and working on his inventions.
