BIOGRAPHY

Author Dorothy Cora Moore has researched her epic novel, "The Atlanteans," for more than 30 years, starting with Edgar Cayce and ending with some very abstract metaphysical works on Atlantis. With a background working in law, she has also taken classes for pleasure at UCLA in Screenwriting and Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Atlanteans began as an original screenplay and, together with its sequel, has become this novelization. Born in Chicago, Illinois, the author now lives in Prescott, Arizona.

INSPIRATION FOR WRITING "THE ATLANTEANS"

My inspiration for writing this epic novel came early in life. When I was a young child (before even attending grammar school) my older sister, Kathy, told me that I would go on and on about Atlantis, which I mistakenly called "At-tah-lis." She said no one really knew in the beginning what I was talking about.

In the second grade I read my first Edgar Cayce book, and learned that people called the lost continent, "Atlantis." My sister also related to me that I insisted that I would write a story about Atlantis one day, which would make everyone laugh.

I also had some unexplainable and unique abstract theories, at a very early age, that I was finally comforted in finding "in print" when I was in my late 20s. It was at this time in my life that I discovered the writings of Alice Bailey -- 18 metaphysical volumes of work, which impart, through a Tibetan Llama, the "Ageless Wisdom Teachings." I remembered having studied this before. Bailey's books are the most intelligent works I have ever been exposed to.

Instead of creating another book about Atlantis, as so many writers have done before me, I took 30 years of research, and all of what I believed "intuitively" to be true, correct and useful, and attempted to put it in what I hope is an entertaining story about not just the place, but about the people of Atlantis -- a story centered around an ancient legend, imparting a well-intended warning, and laced with prophesy.

"The Atlanteans" is really the story of two best friends from Harvard, a lawyer and a doctor, who go on the adventure of a lifetime. The novel begins as a fun vacation when Teddy Townsend and Ryan Stuart enter Teddy's 52-foot racing yacht in the Miami-Nassau Regatta, and then the story soon turns into an unexpected quest, and a story of mystery and suspense.

There is a 100-page Atlantean sequence after the opening of the novel, spiraling back to the last few weeks of Atlantis' existence. In part, it explains that what happened to the Atlanteans does relate to what is happening in the world today -- including two necessary polar corrections that are part of what world governments want to call global warming in a universal cover up.

It is not long before Teddy and Ryan discover that their close friendship began in their ancient past, and that they are being shown the last few weeks of Atlantis' existence for a significant reason.

You will find that the majority of this story is contemporary, and takes place in Chicago and affluent Lake Forest, Illinois, as it ties in a correlation of characters and events between two great civilizations--Atlantis and America--both of which were met with unexpected events that could change one's destiny, if wrong choices were made.

One cannot write a book like this without asking you, the reader, an important question. Do you remember advanced Atlantis, an island-continent ruled by magicians and destroyed by nature some 25,000 years ago? Could you be one of the Atlanteans?
