Ben Colburn

I am Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Glasgow, where I have worked since 2010, and was Head of Philosophy between 2017 and 2020. Before that I was a research fellow of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.

My main research interests are in political philosophy and ethics, with a particular interest in the nature and value of autonomy. I'm currently writing a book about moral blackmail and global justice, and planning a further one on end of life ethics. I work on various topics on the intersection between political philosophy and practical policy, including refugee politics, adult education, end of life care, and urbanism.
