Matt Bolton

I (Matt Bolton) was born in Bremen, Indiana on December 3rd, 1959. After speding most of my childhood growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I graduated from Indiana University in 1982 with a B.S. in Business, concentrating in Accounting. Upon passing the CPA exam in 1982, I moved to Dallas, Texas and spent 8 years in Oil and Gas Revenue Accounting, before making a career switch and to pharmaceutical sales in 1990. After 17 years with two major pharmceutical companies as a Representative, Sales Manager, and Director, unexpected health issues saddled me with Stage 4 Colon Cancer at age 46. Upon going on Disability Retiremant late in 2008, I immediately started looking for other ways to continue to do productive things with my life. As one who has visited what many consider to be every major National Park in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus British Columbia and Alberta, my wife (and many others) encouraged me to write a book on my favorite park - Yosemite. Hence, on August 30th, 2009, my book "The Concise Visitors Guide to Yosemite" was published through Booksurge/Createspace. Based upon the success of my first book (The Concise Visitor's Guide to Yosemite" became a multiple time Amazon category best seller), I decided to put pen to paper once again. As a result, on November 10th, 2010, "The Concise Visitor's Guide to Yellowstone" was published through Createspace as well.

Unfortunatly, the cancer battle has not gone well. After metastisis to my lungs came major headaches and in June of 2011, confirmed metastisis to the brain. I am presently going through major treatment, but I also continue to learn and share new knowledge on the national parks with others each and every day (through vehicles like my national park Facebook page "National Parks 101"). My love of the national parks has never been stronger and my mind never clearer. I hope if you choose to purchase either of my books, that you find as much pleasure in your park experiences (both traveling to and reading about) as I continue to do! Thank you!
