Magued Iskander

Magued G. Iskander, PhD, PE, F.ASCE is a geotechnical engineering educator with over 25 years of experience including analysis, design, and construction of foundations including teaching, research, and consulting. He is recognized as a leader in modeling of soil structure interaction and flow using transparent soil surrogates, behavior of piling made of recycled polymers, and earth pressure acting on rigidly framed structures. He is also an expert on seismic earth pressure, behavior of piles and drilled shafts, non destructive testing (NDT) of foundations, and seismic earth pressure. Professor Iskander is the developer and instructor of ASCE Instrumentation and Monitoring Bootcamp: Planning, Execution and Measurement Uncertainty for Structural and Geotechnical Construction Projects. He conducted over $12 million in funded research and published over 140 peer-refereed papers. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Career Award and five highly regarded teaching awards.
