Richard Knight was born and brought up in Grimsby. He studied history at Sheffield University before becoming a teacher. He writes both children's and adult fiction. Winter Shadow was shortlisted for the NDLA Flicker Tale Award 2011. His short stories for adults have been published by Comma Press, Biscuit Publishing, Arc Publications and Salt, shortlisted for the Fish International Prize 2010 and the Manchester Fiction Prize 2013, and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. He is married with two children and lives in a village in the Pennines. His latest book for children, Finn At Clee Point, was published in September 2012.
