Katherine Gibson Newcomer

Katherine G. Newcomer was born on an army base in Virginia. During her first fourteen years, she moved with her family seven times. She was a shy child - now she calls herself a recovered shy person. She found it impossible to move that much and remain introverted.

She graduated from Drew University (cum laude) with a BA in music and religion. While at Drew, she studied at Ripon Hall, Oxford, the UK for her senior year. She graduated from Rutgers Law School - Newark and was admitted to the NJ Bar during the same year.

Yet, she remained a creative person. Her writing and music bring her both contentment and sometimes bliss. She feels energized and fulfilled when words have been put to 'computer' and the story goes on. At certain moments, she finds that playing the piano is so sweet. All of her cares just slip away and the music remains.

She has worked (briefly) as an attorney, and currently as a mediator. She truly enjoys working with students at the piano and is happy to nurture a love of music. Katherine has played background music at parties just to do it. She was 'in her element' when speaking to numerous book groups about her first novel.

More than one newspaper journalist has called her a 'Renaissance' woman. She admits to it.

She is working on her sci/fi fantasy series - Tatiana and the Hidden Land. The first one: Tatiana and the Hidden Land: Discovery will be available on September 17, 2022.

She has been married for many and has two grown daughters. She has ridden horses her whole life and remains a 'hard core' trail rider. She has trained in Kung fu and Russian Martial Arts, but still has much more to learn.
