I am a 65-year-old Canadian, and co-author of the first and definitive biography about the late adult film legend and pop culture icon, John Curtis Holmes. "John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches," presented in an oral history format, was published in August 2008 by BearManor Media. The book contains three photos sections (including rare nudes), a 21-page filmography, 114 feature film reviews, and 86 loops synopses. In addition to the kindle format, the second and expanded edition of our book was released October 2011.
Upon learning that a biography about John Holmes did not exist, the originator of "John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches," 37-year-old Jennifer Sugar, a bright and intelligent young writer, conceived "Inches" in 2004. Through our mutual curiosity about Holmes and his connection to the infamous unsolved 'Wonderland' murders, Sugar and I connected online and forged our unique collaboration. Prior to embarking upon this project, neither Sugar or I had previous affiliation with media, John Holmes, or the adult entertainment community, enabling us to provide a factual and balanced approach to the book. To complete an unbiased and consummate look at the turbulent life and death of the biggest male adult film star in the history of erotic cinema, we interviewed 35 people (and integrated other resource material) who had known, worked with, and/or loved John Holmes. To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the book's publication, in 2013, "John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches" was released in hardcover, and contains a new introduction titled "Conception," written by Jennifer Sugar, and a "Postscript" written by myself. Since its debut, John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches has received critical acclaim. The book's official website may be accessed at www.johnholmesinches.com.
"Golden Goddesses: 25 Legendary Women of Classic Erotic Cinema, 1968-1985," released on October 31, 2012 by BearManor Media is compiled from interviews I conducted with each personality featured. Profiling some of the most prominent and popular females of the golden era when working in sexually-oriented films was still illegal, "Goddesses" contains over 300 photos, film highlights, and a special "Honorable Mentions" section including fifteen short synopses on additional females associated with the classic era of adult films. The book's foreword is written by Jennifer Sugar. "Golden Goddesses" book blog can be found at the following link: http://goldengoddessesbook.blogspot.ca/
A true-life travel memoir, "Tapes From California: Teenage Road Tripping, 1976," details a six-month, youth hostelling/hitchhiking road trip I made with a friend through the west coasts of Canada and California between February and August 1976. “TAPES” was released November 2017.
