William P. Broughton

After graduation with a BA in Geography from Concordia University in 1967 I worked as an Urban Planner in both the public and private sectors for about eighteen years. After several years in secular work I answered the call to Christian Ministry and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from McMaster Divinity College in 1986. From 1983 to 2005 I pastored three different churches in Ontario Canada. In 1998 I began work on my Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Seminary in Newburgh Indiana and graduated in 2004 with a concentration in Pastoral Resources. It was during this time that I took a special interest in the field of Apologetics taking courses from John Warwick Montgomery at Trinity Seminary and joining the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry group. In addition to this class work I purchased many of Dr. Montgomery lecture tapes on Evidential Apologetics. After listening to these lectures I developed a passion for the study of Apologetics which resulted in the publication of my book The Historical Development of Legal Apologetics With an Emphasis on the Resurrection. This work was suggested as a possible topic of study by Ross Clifford in his book titled John Warwick Montgomery’s Legal Apologetics an Apologetic for all Seasons. ( It is hoped that this book will answer this question concerning the historical development of Legal Apologetics from the early Christian period to the present. I am now a retired pastor after twenty –three years in the ministry and I have changed the direction of my ministry from full time pastor to author of Christian literature.
