Anna C. Patchias

Anna C. Patchias received her B.A. in English literature magna cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University and her M.A. in English from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She was awarded her Ph.D. in English literature in August 2005, also from the University of Virginia, specializing in the rise of the woman of letters and the development of the English novel.

After many years of teaching and arduous research, Dr. Patchias freed herself from the shackles of academia and leapt happily into entrepreneurship. In June 2004, she purchased Champion Tutoring from its founder after having worked for the company during grad school. Dr. Patchias is proud that Champion's philosophy of individualized tutoring has a transformative effect on the lives of young people. In 2009, Champion Tutoring celebrated its 15th anniversary as a locally owned and operated small business.

Dr. Patchias resides in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband and son. She is actively involved in the civic and cultural life of her community.
