MRINAL JOSHI

MY RESEARCH

The areas of my research interest are Epigraphy, Women's History, and Gender History. The focus of my research has been Jaina inscriptions of medieval Gujarat. I have recently conceived of a project to study both Hindu as well as Jaina inscriptions of medieval Gujarat from gender perspective.

The topic of my Ph.D. research was 'Women in Jainism: A Case Study of Gujarat Inscriptions'. This work is now published in the form of a book.

EMPLOYMENT

 I am an independent researcher pursuing research in History out of my own interest and passion.

 Between 2002 and 2006, I have also worked as a 'Visiting Faculty' at PG Dept of History, S.N.D.T Women's University, Mumbai. I have taught the following subjects to the M.A. students - History of America, Women's History: Problems and Procedures, Historiography: Concepts and Tools, Historiography: Methods and Approaches.
