The first novel in the series, Dreams Thrown Away, netted Dilsa Saunders Bailey a Georgia Writers Association nomination for the Georgia Author of the Year Award-First Novel Category in 2010 and was a quarterfinalist in the Screencraft Cinematic Book Contest. Her great-grandmother's talent for storytelling intrigued Bailey at a young age, and she began writing as a hobby at age 13. Finally, after years of corporate life in the medical services field, she decided it was time to share some of her stories bubbling in her mind about an unusual family and its strong, resilient heroine, causing her fans to fall in love with them, begging for more.
Bailey has appeared as an author on television, in print media, and on various radio stations. Born in South Carolina, where she lived her first 17 years, Bailey moved to New Jersey and then to Pennsylvania before relocating permanently to Georgia. She has resided in Atlanta for more than 25 years, where she tries to keep up with her grandkids.
In addition to the Sperling Chronicles, now three in the romantic suspense series, Dilsa has written a book called "A Comprehensive Guide to Finding the Right Doctor." Her goal is to help everyone choose the right healthcare provider.
Dilsa loves to hear from her fans to listen to what they think, especially since the topic of a woman's tribulations and desire for a loving, respectful man is so timely. The Sperling Chronicles reach back to the 1970s when women struggled to be seen and heard as something more than sexual objects. Kali could raise her hand and say #MeToo, but like most women, she quietly endured. Her passion and trials with the men in her life only strengthened and pushed her forward. I'm sure you will like her. And let me know, which of her trials do you identify with, the Kali or the eager innocent young Kalina. Grab a copy.
