Born in Pennsylvania, Bert Johnston grew up in Wheeling and Charleston, West Virginia. After World War II service in the Navy, he earned degrees from Centre College of Kentucky and Union Theological Seminary in Virginia.
Following pastorates in Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky, Bert was a presbytery executive in Florida for ten years, then returned to pastoral ministry as interim pastor of churches in Memphis, Tennessee, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Annapolis, Maryland.
Bert has now moved from the writing of sermons to the writing of novels. He writes to entertain, not to preach, but hopes his stories will also inspire faith.
Bert's first novel, Parson Campbell's Breakthrough, is available through Amazon.com and on Kindle, and will soon be found in a Smashwords edition, readable in all e-book formats. He awaits publication of his megachurch novel, Sunrise in the Cloud Forest.
Bert and his wife, Betty, live in Alabama, on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay.
