Carla Burke

Carla Burke is an award-winning author who won The 2011 Christian Literary Award for her beautifully written and illustrated children's book, "I Spy a Dragonfly". She lives in Horseshoe Bay, Texas with her husband, an Aussiedoodle, and a cat. Her children and her love of nature with a particular fondness for dragonflies inspired her first children's book.

Her second book combines her love of horses and children and tells a very important story of how children are affected by life-threatening food allergies - mainly peanuts and tree nuts. The story is told through the eyes of a pony named Peanuts and his owner named Penny who has to be careful with everything she eats because she is anaphylactic to peanuts.
