Award-winning writer Li Mo (Li Min Mo) is a critically acclaimed storyteller, artist, and educator. Born in Shanghai, she escaped China in 1952 after the civil war and eventually made her way to the U.S. in 1960.
Li Mo has lived and worked in Cambridge, MA for over three decades where she raised three children. She holds an M.A. in Theater and Education from Goddard College in Vermont and an M.F.A. from Emerson College in Creative Writing. She is also a passionate gardener and an accomplished cook. Mo's workshops and classes in writing, art, drama and storytelling keep her in high-demand across the U.S. and abroad. She is currently at work on a new novel.
Li Mo has worked with Peter Schuman's Bread and Puppet Theatre and studied with Reality Theatre-Gurdinieze, Japanese Kyogen Players and with Joan Halifax on Shamanism, Buddhism and the Sun Dance Teachings of the Native Americans.
