Doug Wallace was born in 1949 in Dover, Tennessee to impoverished parents, grew up in a dysfunctional family of eight children, moving frequently from one cheap rental home to another during his childhood and adolescent years. While in middle school Doug's father burned down the only home they ever owned to collect the insurance money. For thirty years Doug practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia, growing his firm, Wallace & deMayo to become the largest of its kind in the nation. His first book, "Everything Will Be All Right," won the Indie Next List Award for best non-fiction in December 2009. From 2009 through 2013 Doug's book had been used by public schools and private universities for Excellence in Education, particularly in the sociology of language and behavior among the various socioeconomic classes in America.
