I was raised in a church that emphasized fear, but have come to realize that God calls us to a life of generous love and deep peace. Now I'm a teacher and minister who writes to share what I'm learning on that joyful journey. "The Literate Spirit" celebrates reading as spiritual practice. "Called to Teach" affirms the possibility of 24/7 faith, even within the walls of public schools. The next book is "In God's Embrace: A Christian Life Examined," and I'm currently reading for it.
