Karen M. Bourgeois

Karen Stegman-Bourgeois grew up in Wisconsin and has lived all across the U.S.A., starting in Kansas, Massachusetts, Nebraska, and finally, Florida, where she's been since 2020. She is the proud wife of Tom, mother to three children, and grandmother to nine, including twins, triplets, and four singletons.

She went to college in Oshkosh, WI, where she studied classical voice and piano but finished her degree in Germany, where she loved business law, programming, and creative writing. Her degree is in business and management, which led her to software engineering. She also worked as a substitute teacher, accountant, and private tutor.

She writes in many genres, including board books, picture books, chapter books, middle-grade books, and adult books (thrillers, mysteries, and rom-coms).

She enjoys reading, writing, and traveling. Her favorite state is Alaska, having been there on a Norwegian cruise with her husband. Together they watch cooking shows and Jeopardy!
