San Murugesan

San Murugesan is the Director of BRITE Professional Services and an adjunct professor at Western Sydney University, Australia. He is editor in chief of IT Professional, serves on the editorial boards of Computer and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, and edits Computer's Cloud Cover column. He is a corporate trainer, a consultant and an author.

He was a Senior Research Fellow at the NASA Ames Research Center, has been a professor at various universities, and has led several projects at the Indian Space Research Organization in Bangalore. He has held visiting positions at the City University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong and Concordia University in Canada. He has served on several review and advisory boards and conference committees. He has rich and vast experience in both academia and industry and has made significant contributions to both the IT field and to society.

He has over 180 publications, including the Encyclopedia of Cloud Computing (Wiley-IEEE Press, 2016), Harnessing Green IT (Wiley-IEEE Press, 2012), Handbook of Research on Web 2.0, 3.0, and X.0: Technologies, Business, and Social Applications (Information Science Reference, 2009) and Web Engineering (Springer, 2001).

He has developed and delivered multilevel certification and training programs on the Internet of Things, cloud computing and green IT and gave several invited seminar and keynotes on a range of topics in professional meetings and conferences around the world. His expertise and interests span a range areas and includes IoT, cloud computing, green IT, IT for Emerging Regions, Web 3.0 and 2.0, smart systems and mobile computing applications.

He holds Doctorate (PhD), Master in Technology and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degrees.

Dr. Murugesan is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, a Fellow of IETE and IICA. He was an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor, currently serves the CS in other roles, and connects with CS members in the Asia-pacific and other regions.
