Maurice "Mo" Murray, B.A.,M.Div. brings an interesting combination of backgrounds to our list of author's in "Author Central." Murray is a former substance abuse counselor and clinical director. In his prior profession he was the creator and voice talent of the syndicated radio show "As Memory Serves Me" which aired on over four hundred radio stations with Beltone Hearing Aids as it's national sponsor. Murray uses this rare combination of clinical skills [he is in recovery] and nostalgic humor [from his radio shows] to help alcoholics achieve positive recovery results.
Once called one of the nation's greatest champions for self-help alcoholic recovery, Murray's latest recovery workbook "Recovery Your Way" shatters the conventional stereotype of a helplessly stuck problem alcoholic and removes the stigma associated with alcoholism. With one statement he launches a unique treatment approach: "You are in Recovery now, even if you are still drinking."
Murray is retired and lives in Charleston, South Carolina with his rescue and special needs black cat Jackson (Jackson was born blind) you can see pictures of Jackson on Murray's Author Page.
