Kendall Dunkelberg

Kendall Dunkelberg (1962- ) is a poet and teacher who directs the low-residency MFA and undergraduate concentration in creative writing, as well as the Eudora Welty Writers' Symposium at Mississippi University for Women, where he is Professor of English and Chair of the Department of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy, teaching creative writing, world literature, and poetry. He is editor of Poetry South and a founder, along with his graduate students, of Ponder Review. His introductory multi-genre creative writing textbook, A Writer's Craft, is available from Bloomsbury Publishing.

Dunkelberg was born and raised in Osage, Iowa. Prior to moving to Columbus, Mississippi, he lived in Galesburg and Chicago, Illinois; Ghent and Leuven, Belgium; Northfield, Minnesota; and Austin, Texas. Besides his own poetry, he has published many translations of Dutch poetry and fiction.
