David E. Crosby

David Crosby, pastor and editorialist, is the second of 13 children born to Russell and Donna Crosby. He is the father of three children and grandfather to seven. He began speaking and singing in public as part of the Crosby Brothers Quartet composed of David and three of his brothers: Tom, Danny, and Jon.

He earned a Ph.D. in Christian ethics at Baylor University and attended seminary in New Orleans.

His editorials and articles have appeared in various magazines and newspapers. He served on the Roundtable of the Times-Picayune/NOLA.com for several years.

He is president and founder of Crossroads NOLA, a nonprofit seeking to improve outcomes for foster children in Louisiana. He also serves on the board of trustees for Gateway Seminary in California and is a trustee for New Orleans Baptist Ministries.

David continues his pastoral ministry as interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Gatesville, Texas. He is pastor emeritus of First Baptist New Orleans and served as senior pastor there for 22 years until his retirement in 2018.
