Naomi Giroux

Naomi Giroux was born in Bath, NY and spent 20 years in the Finger Lakes area of the state. Beautiful, except for shoveling snow. She joined the Army Nurse Corps to see the world. Texas is a big state but hardly the world, yet here she has been since 1970.

Naomi was married in El Paso, TX on her soon-to-become husband's lunch break. When the county clerk asked when we planned to marry and we really had no plans, she told us the Judge was free. So up the stairs they went to stand before the Judge. He asked them if they wanted to be married and then said formally, "by the power vested in my by the State of Texas I pronounce you husband and wife." Done! Money changed hands and to this day Naomi stayed married to the same soldier (now ex-soldier, professor emeritus and writer).

They have two native Texans and three grandchildren, a dog and two cats. Home is in the Hill Country of Texas, not far from Austin--and near their daughter and grandkids.

Naomi wrote for many years for fun and professionally, before publishing two books through iUniverse and co-authoring primordial Soup. There are several other manuscripts sitting and waiting, but today she is active in local volunteer work.

KEOS 89.1 FM is a local community radio station that Naomi shares hosting a weekly show called, "Brazos Valley Health."
