Linda Bourgeois Davidson

Linda Robertson Bourgeois, dropped the Davidson after the divorce, was born in Sallis, MS in 1938 in a three room cabin beside the "Big Ditch". My great, great grandfather was on this land doctoring the Choctaw Native Americans, therefore, no one has lived on our land but the family and the Choctaw's. I wrote the notes in this book, Lucille sketched the individual drawings and Mary Ellen input all the numerous changes requested. We sort of battled through what kind of book to publish. Lucille's grandmother had met Margaret Mitchell once, I believe, however,they corresponded through the years and a fruit cake arrived at the Michell's every Christmas. We borrowed money from Lucille's father to publish this book through mine and Mary Ellen's publishing company, Ellen Ross Publishing, Inc. We paid him back, however, Mary Ellen and I never received any payment or royalties from this effort. I do not know if Lucille did or not because she left our lives and we do not know anything about what has happened to her. It was a good experience.

Currently, Ellen Ross Publishing, Inc. will be publishing my current titles: Death of a Father, a book of poetry about my father while he was dying from cancer; A collection of poems with a working title of Ragged Sheets of Paper; Mississippi Native Voices: Degrees of Reflection Toward the Terminal Degree; Roe vs Wade, A Policy Paper; and Notes From Bobby, a story about my cat, Raggs.
