A. Parker Burroughs has written for the Observer-Reporter newspaper in Washington, Pa., since 1972 and was chief editor from 1988 to 2012. He has won numerous state, regional and national awards for his columns, feature stories and editorials. As a journalist he has traveled extensively through Asia and Eastern Europe. He has worked as a consultant for newspapers in Russia and Ukraine, was the founder of Books for the World and taught writing at Bethany College.
Born in Santa Monica, Calif., in 1949, Burroughs graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in in 1971 with a B.A. degree in English. He is married to the artist Alice Burroughs and is father to artists Brody Burroughs and Caitlyn Burroughs.
