Robert William Pearce

Robert William Pearce was born in Romford, Essex, U.K., in 1954. He was educated at Secondary Modern and Grammar Schools passing 6 O-levels and 4 A-Levels in Pure Maths, Applied Maths, Physics and Electronics and then studied Civil Engineering at Portsmouth Polytechnic and later gained a Higher National Diploma in Building and a B.Sc. Degree in Quantity Surveying at the Anglia Polytechnic University. More recently he passed the European Computer Driving Licence.

As a consequence of his education, Robert's books to date tend towards being fact based, fictional novels and the like being a future challenge.

He has persued many areas of employment including banking, dustman, dock worker, ice cream salesman, factory worker, electronic test equipment calibrator and window cleaning business owner before becoming a quantity surveyor in the building industry after he married.

He retired from work at 50 because of ill health, which gives him plenty of time for his hobbies and interests which are horse racing, D.I.Y., woodwork, oil painting, bird watching (he has a pair of Red Rumped Parakeets), chess, collecting British Victorian stamps and cigarette cards, rock and pop music (he has a large L.P. collection) and writing.

He has lived in Colchester since the age of 14 where he now shares a flat with his wife Rose.
