Melanie Haney

Melanie Haney grew up in Massachusetts and earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University. She was the winner of the 2006 Family Circle Magazine Fiction Competition and the 2007 Ann Arbor Book Festival Short Story Contest. Her story "The Last Thing Before Dirt" has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Melanie's stories have appeared in various literary venues, including Eureka Literary Magazine, Fifth Wednesday Journal, Quality Women's Fiction, Relief Journal, Blue Earth Review, The Summerset Review, Word Riot, JMWW and others.

She currently resides in Southern NH with her husband and three children. She writes to maintain her sanity, the success of which is up for debate. Melanie hopes to have her first novel completed in 2009.
