Author and motivational speaker Carol Hansen Grey is a visionary catalyst and social activist whose passion is to help people love and empower themselves. She does this through her books and CDs, through the projects she initiates and through her graphic design and web development work.
In 1996 she first produced her Open Your Heart and Lighten Up audio tape (currently available as a CD from http://openheartpress.com) based on her popular workshop that teaches people a simple 5-minute-a-day process that brings you into a state of unconditional love of yourself. For the next 10 years she and her husband Victor Grey traveled throughout the United States and Canada teaching her workshop. In 1997 she and Victor initiated the Only Love Prevails World Peace Experiment (http://onlylovepresvails.org) and in 1998 they published their Free Yourself from Fear audio tape (currently available as a CD from http://openheartpress.com). From 2000-2004 Carol served as the Executive Director of Women of Vision and Action, a 501c3 organization, through which she initiated the Athena Wisdom Exchange Mentoring Program, the Feminine Face of Leadership Conference, and the international Gather the Women movement.
With Victor, she co-founded Open Heart Press publishing company in 1995, CustomDynamic.net web development and design company in 2000. In 2004 Carol agreed to serve on a core team of women to promote a 5th Women's World Conference and developed a website for that purpose (http://5WWC.org). In 2009 she developed a sister site to further the goals (http://5WCW.org).
In 2009 her book, Simple Healing Tools: On the Path to Personal Empowerment and Inner Peace, was published by Open Heart Press. In it, she offers stories and tools she has developed and used over the past 15 years that helped her attain her goals. Visit SimpleHealingTools.com for more information. In 2011 she published her first Kindle book, "How Do I Love Myself: Learn a Magical 5 Minute-a-Day Process" and in 2012 she published her second Kindle book, "How Do I Create Peace Within Myself and in the World." In process are three more books in her "How Do I..." series.
in 2017 she published her book "Know You Are Loved: Inspirational Notes to My Daughter on Her Journey to Recovery, Rediscovery, and Self-Empowerment." The book is a touching, biographical memoir of 230 graphically-illustrated, inspirational quotes, accompanied by Carol's personal motivational messages, that stress the importance of self-love and personal empowerment. Each message has a universal appeal: that self-love is a necessary component of personal empowerment. It is hoped that this book will be an inspiration to anyone who needs to incorporate the self-love messages into their own life.
In 2020 Carol published an ebook version of "Know You Are Loved." The new cover design was made from a collage that her daughter, Liz, had created and framed from all the many inspirational messages Carol had mailed to her when she was in rehab. Liz says that she hung the framed collage where she sees it every day as inspiration to remind her how much she is loved.
