Laura Martone

A native of New Orleans, Laura Martone has been an avid traveler since childhood. While growing up, she and her mother would often take long road trips to fascinating U.S. landmarks, and after graduating from Northwestern University in 1998 with a dual degree in English and radio/TV/film, Laura continued to explore the world with her husband, Daniel. Since 1999, they've lived in a variety of places (from southern England to Los Angeles), operated two film festivals, and roamed America's byways in a cozy home-on-wheels.

Over the past two decades, Laura has contributed travel articles to several magazines (including National Geographic Traveler and MotorHome), written and edited several guidebooks, and co-authored several sci-fi and fantasy novels with her husband. When not in the Big Easy or northern Michigan, she and Daniel can be found in Serenity, their mobile writing studio, with their adaptable if ferocious kitty, Ruby Azazel.
