Will Carpenter

Will Carpenter began writing shortly after he began to sail as a merchant seaman, a career that took him around the world six times before he retired as the captain of a research vessel. His second career was in sub-sea robotics. Following his retirement, Carpenter lives in "the hills and hollers" of Tennessee.

His current offering on Kindle is an expanded version of his first printed book about a much-ignored aspect of Americana, "The Life and Times Of...: Researching and Writing American Local History.

I've started research on a new local history that examines the six city blocks in the general vicinity of 2nd Street and Broadway in Nashville, TN -- an area that encompasses not only the backstory of the world of country music, but the backstory of downtown Nashville. With a working title of "Cowboy Boots and Guitar Picks" and written in a readable, almost novel-like style, it promises to be a very entertaining history of a very entertaining place.
