Dakota Banks is the award-winning author of the completed four‑book Mortal Path series, a binge‑ready blend of urban fantasy, paranormal suspense, and mythology‑driven adventure. The saga follows Maliha Crayne, an immortal assassin fighting to reclaim her humanity, as she confronts ancient forces, buried truths, and the consequences of her past. The series concluded with Quest, delivering a global, high‑intensity finale grounded in ancient legends, danger, teamwork, and the pursuit of balance. Quest was intentionally written with just enough information about the story arc that you will not feel lost in Maliha's journey if Quest is your first encounter with her.

With a lifelong fascination for archaeology and ancient cultures, Dakota created immersive worlds where myth, history, and high‑stakes storytelling intersect. Before launching her fantasy career, she published six suspense thrillers under other names, drawing on her background in forensic science trends, computer simulation, and virtual reality.

Dakota is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and lives in the area with her husband. Their two sons, adopted from Peru and Ethiopia, are well on their way to independent lives. She is also assisted by her two cats, Snickers and Squeaky, who frequently “contribute” to her drafts by walking across the keyboard.
