Matt Rowe was born in South Bend Indiana and enlisted in the US Army after high school. He was a military policeman and paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, and spent 8-years in the elite army Special Forces--the Green Berets. While assigned to 7th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina he deployed to various Latin American countries as a military and police advisor in high threat counter-narcotics and counterinsurgency operations.
Matt later managed the current operations section in 7th Group Headquarters supporting the deployment, operations, and redeployment of Special Forces A-Teams throughout Latin America. While assigned to Special Operations Command South based in the Republic of Panama he was one of 5 key planners of the Special Operations portion of the largest military training exercise ever conducted in Latin America prior to 1993.
As a security consultant to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games in 1996, Matt provided guidance on how to best protect Olympic venues from the threat of car bombs. He later became an Assistant Venue Security Manager responsible for the inaugural Olympic Beach Volleyball competition taking place in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Matt graduated Magna cum Laude from Campbell University with a BS in Government and was recruited by General Electric as a process improvement project leader. He earned various professional certifications in the use of sophisticated business process improvement techniques and tools, and completed his MBA at the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
Matt has worked successfully in financial services, hospitality, and manufacturing industries as both an internal consultant and through his own independent consulting firm. He currently lives near Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife and three sons. "White Passage: Red Sun" is his first novel.
