Doyle Walker

Doyle Walker is a born and bred Texan, having grown up on a dairy farm in Central Texas. His mother and father's ancestors were true frontier pioneers, having moved to Texas from Virginia, by way of Mississippi. They helped found and settle Friendship, Texas, in the early to mid-1800's. Walker was born in 1949, the youngest of three brothers. He moved to the city...Temple, Texas...when he was in elementary school. In 1969, while in college, he married his high school sweetheart, Cathy. A few years later, upon graduation, the two moved to Plano, Texas.

While having a background of working with public and private schools for over 40 years, the author was a teacher and principal for almost 20 of those years. During his time as a high school history teacher and later as an administrator, Walker was chosen "Who's Who in the South and Southwest" as well as being named an "Outstanding Young Educator of Texas". He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1972 and his Masters of Education Degree from the University of North Texas in 1978.

The author and his wife have one son who is a U.S. federal agent and their daughter-in-law was an elementary teacher for several years. The two of them gave Doyle and Cathy their first grandchild just prior to Thanksgiving, 2008, and as of this writing they're about to become grandparents again...to twins.

Doyle and Cathy currently live in the Dallas area, and their house is run by their two chocolate Labs...the stars of his children's book, "The Misadventures of Belle and Chloe". For more information regarding his book, simply visit the book's website at WWW.BelleAndChloe.com.
