Roger E. Jones

Roger E Jones works with chief executives on the human dynamics that sit between strategy on paper and strategy that actually moves. For more than twenty-five years, he has worked at senior levels with chief executives and leadership teams across listed companies, private-equity-backed businesses, and family-owned firms in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australasia.

His current work focuses on strategic drag: the hidden psychological friction that builds between a chief executive’s decisions and what the organisation actually does. It is the kind of friction that often appears long before the cost is visible in performance, board scrutiny, or missed execution milestones.

Roger is a CEO advisor, not a strategy consultant or executive coach. He works at the point where strategy, execution, and organisational psychology meet, helping chief executives see the patterns of behaviour, authority, silence, and status that quietly slow momentum even when the strategy itself is sound.

He holds an Executive Master’s focused on clinical organisational psychology from INSEAD. His earlier work on executive psychology and leadership dynamics was published in Harvard Business Review and INSEAD Knowledge. Earlier in his career, he also wrote books focused primarily on influence and communication for leaders in organisations.

Strategic Drag: Why Strategy Execution Slows and What the Most Self-Aware CEOs See Beneath the Numbers brings together his advisory experience, psychological training, and long-standing interest in how leaders read what is really happening beneath the surface. It gives chief executives language for the hidden dynamics that decide whether strategy accelerates, stalls, or quietly loses force.

Roger lives in London, UK, with his wife and daughter and works with clients worldwide.
