Ingrid is a life-long athlete and happily retired lawyer. Now she spends her time being a mom-writer-athlete-coach. She has written about triathlon, autism and motherhood.
In her youth, her height and competence in the ocean gave her confidence to go beyond typical female pursuits and seek the road less traveled - becoming the first female to lifeguard an ocean beach way before "Baywatch", rowing across the Catalina channel, and joining the men's rowing team in college because there was no women's team.
Her first book, Ironplanner: Iron-distance Organizer for Triathletes, is a departure from the multitude of training books available to Ironman hopefuls. The simple task list/spreadsheet format of the book is based on the notebook Ingrid created to prepare for her first Ironman.
Her next book, Weight Management for Triathletes, will address the unique needs of triathletes that have weight issues despite regular training. It is full of insight from this athlete that has stuggled with weight issues that were not solved by training.
Ingrid writes to simply, encourage and inspire. She welcomes feedback and questions at Ingridloosmiler@gmail.com
