Stephen Cobb

I am a lifelong learner and researcher who has been studying data privacy and cybersecurity for over 30 years, both as a practitioner and an academic, often working closely with, and inspired by, my partner, Chey Cobb. My focus has always been on emerging threats, together with the evolution of risk perception and response.

Along the way I helped create several products and companies addressing privacy and security challenges. I also developed and delivered privacy and security education and awareness training for organizations small and large (e.g. Norwich University, Microsoft, AT&T, Eli Lilly).

A recipient of the CompTIA Technology Champion Award (2019), I recently returned to self-employment and independent research after an eight-year stint as Senior Security Researcher at one of the world's largest security software companies (ESET). I have a master of science in security and risk management from the School of Criminology at the University of Leicester.
