I am from Oklahoma City. I received a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma. I lived most of my adult life in Dallas, Texas, but now live in the small city of Georgetown, Texas. When I was 37, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and started a long journey to find the proper medications for my case. When I finally did so, after five years, I was able to get employment as a writer and worked at writing jobs for the next 10 years. Unfortunately, I developed an allergy to my medication and while looking for new meds, lost my job.

After retiring, I wrote three books about bipolar disoder, one a memoir about my life with the disorder, "Sugar and Salt, My Life with Bipolar Disorder," another which is more like a primer for the newly-diagnosed and to help loved ones to understand the illness,"The Rookie's Guide to Bipolar Disorder," and a third one, a novel about a woman facing bipolar disorder, "Reboot: A Novel of Bipolar Disorder." I now have out a fourth book, also a novel, a story about a group of people with bipolar disorder who form a support group and how this impacts their lives. It is titled "Flying Buttresses." Bipolar disorder is a common mental illness and knowledge of it can help to manage it and its consequences.
