F.W. Brown was born in Hatch New Mexico in 1942 and grew up in Beaumont California.
He joined the US Air Force in 1959 and served the next twenty years as a loadmaster on C-130s as well as in various other capacities. He retired in 1979, began writing and started a second career at White Sands Missile Range as a GS-12 Aerial Target Control Officer.
In the following years he wrote several books, the most popular being: Mephisto Shadows, Zombeast, Hot Sand and Cold Blood, and Cocaine Jungle. In addition to novels he also penned a movie review column for the Alamogordo Daily News.
He once again retired from Government service in 1998 and continues to write. He is currently working on a manuscript titled: Dunhill's Revenge.
Freddie Washington Brown has three adult children who reside in Portland, OR. They are: Erik Michael Brown, Allison M. Thompson, and Andrea Nichole Brown
