Laura Clarizio

As a television reporter Laura Clarizio covered many stories involving children. The four books in her series If I Had a Magic Carpet are away to give back.

After graduating from Boston University, she began her television career, reporting and producing, for international, national, and local news organizations in New York, Rhode Island, and Boston. She is also a radio anchor/host in the New England area. As a reporter she has covered numerous stories involving children. Many of those situations inspired her to write this series, hoping to help keep children out of harms way.

In second grade Laura Clarizio's teacher assigned her the essay, If I had a Magic Carpet. Years later she decided to turn that into a children's book series to promote reading and writing through imagination. She also hopes to teach children valuable life lessons.
