Linda E. Austin

Linda E. Austin grew up listening to her mother's stories of growing up in Japan during the Depression, WWII and the Occupation. After writing her mother's memoir, "Cherry Blossoms in Twilight," Linda became an advocate for storytelling and lifewriting and now encourages others to preserve family memories in print or video. Sadly, Linda's mother was struck by Alzheimer's. "Poems That Come to Mind" is a short book of mostly Japanese haiku and tanka that captures the poignant and sweet moments that can be found in the tragedy of Alzheimer's. Linda believes poetry can be a form of lifewriting, too.

"Battlefield Doc: Memoirs of a Korean War Combat Veteran" is Linda's last published book project, with William "Doc" Anderson. Visit http://moonbridgebooks.com for encouragement and resources to produce your own book of lifewritings. Everyone has stories!
