G. B. Prabhat

G B Prabhat's first novel, "Chains", was published in 2000 to critical acclaim. "Eimona", his second novel published in 2006, is a dystopian story set in modern India that has been compared with "Brave New World" and "1984".

Prabhat's short stories have appeared in Asia Literary Review, The Hindu and The Indian Express. Some stories have been translated into Telugu, Hindi and Chinese.

His debut collection of Tamil poems, "Engirundho Vandhavai," (Of Unknown Origin), was published by Cre-A:, a leading Tamil publisher in October 2020.

David Shulman, one of the world's foremost authorities on Tamil and author of "Tamil: A Biography," describes Prabhat as "a modern Siddha poet." Further, he says, “Prabhat's poems have the elusive glimmer of a firefly: a flash, and they are gone. Afterwards, they flash again, as if playing with your eyes and ear. Then gone again. Tantalizing, elliptical, laconic, ironic, whimsical.”

Prabhat has spent over 30 years in the IT and consulting industry and is widely considered the pioneer of the offshore consulting model. He has been featured by the media worldwide for his literary and professional accomplishments. He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a graduate degree in Computer Science.
