John M. Prophet was born in 1933 in Waltham, MA and grew up in Wellesley, MA. He attended Bowling Green University in Ohio and received his Masters degree in Special Education from Boston University. His career covers teaching, management, and sales and a stint in the U.S. Navy as an Air Navigator. His major works include five Casey Miller mysteries for young adults which he has been told compare with Nancy Drew mysteries. He enjoys writing short stories and has received two awards from Writers Digest for mysteries. He also enjoys writing poems and stories for children and has received awards for serious poems. Currently, in addition to working on his memoirs and book six of the Casey Miller series, he has been writing a blog since January 2007 at www.capecodtoday.com entitled Historic Harwich. He lives on Cape Cod with his wife, Ellen.
