Laurel Mills

Laurel Mills grew up near the low mountains of western Maine and now lives in the flat midland of Wisconsin. She is the author of five award-winning books of poems. Her newest chapbook of poems, Rumor of Hope from Encircle Publications, is about her grown daughter who has a rare genetic condition. Laurel is also the author of three novels from Intaglio Publications: Taking Flight, Racing toward Providence, and Undercurrents. Her work has appeared in periodicals such as Ms. Magazine, Yankee, Calyx, and in anthologies such as Boomer Girls: Poems by Women from the Baby Boom Generation. She is Senior Lecturer Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, where she taught English and edited the literary magazine Fox Cry Review.
