Mark Lee Kirchmeier

I was born in the Texas Panhandle and have called Dallas home since 1979. I earned a BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington and also attended Southwestern University at Georgetown. I was striken by bipolar affective disorder at the age of nineteen and subsequently struggled to write for the next two decades, culminating in my first novel, The Province of Hope, published in May 2006. I am an advocate for persons living with AIDS and for the estimated two million Americans living with bipolar affective disorder. My dream is that together humanity will create a world where understanding and acceptance of others replaces intolerance.

2009. I wanted to report to my readers what I have been doing these past three years since the publication of my first novel. I was honored to be able to participate in research with the University of Melbourne in Australia developing guidelines for caregivers of bipolars.

I am currently writing the sequel to The Province of Hope.
