I am currently a Professor of Physical Chemistry at Bristol University in the UK. As well as teaching (and admin, of course), my research involves the deposition of thin films of artificial diamond. Although I write a lot of scientific and technical papers as part of my job, I also enjoy writing science-fiction stories, 5 of which I collated into a book available for Kindle on Amazon.
In 1996 I started and continue to maintain the website entitled 'Molecules with Silly or Unusual Names', which has become quite infamous amongst scientific websites for its collection of scientifically correct, but nonetheless rather rude, molecule names. I collated these together into a book as well, which is also available on Amazon.
